On the Monstrous

Publication date: 22 June 2025

The first volume of Flesh and Parchment, ‘On the Monstrous’, begins where fear and fascination meet. These pages explore how monstrosity is imagined, imposed, and sometimes embraced — as warning, as defiance, as identity. Here, the monstrous is not a curse, but a kind of knowledge. A resistance. A mirror held up to the world that made it.

This issue includes poetry, short essays, visual work, and experimental fragments. Some pieces are personal, some historical, some straddle both — but all reach towards the strange, the misremembered, and the unruly.
